Pemprov DKI Kembalikan Jadwal Operasional MRT, LRT, dan Transjakarta Seperti Semula

Public Transportation Operational in Jakarta Returns to Normal

We will also impose restrictions on the number of queues at bus stops, stations and vehicles

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan revealed, the Jakarta Provincial Government returns the number of public transportation to high frequency based on the President's direction to still provide public transportation, on Monday (3/16).

The governor explained the public transportation in Jakarta will operate in a disciplined social distancing manner in a bid to prevent coronavirus transmission. One option is there will be restrictions on the number of passengers per bus and per car in every public vehicle operating under the city government.

"We will also impose restrictions on the number of queues at bus stops, stations and vehicles. Once again this is to reduce the risk of coronavirus," he explained.

Besides passenger restrictions, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo added, the city has also re-activated the operational schedule for Transjakarta bus, MRT and LRT as before.

Difference in time of arrival between buses or between trains (headway) will be tighter. The distance between the MRT will return to five minutes during rush hour. Even the difference in arrivals between fleets will also be reduced for Transjakarta and LRT.

"MRT will operate at 5 AM - 12 AM. Then, currently it operates four cars into 16 cars with a maximum capacity limitation of 360 passengers," he explained.

As for the LRT, will also operate normal from 5 AM - 11 PM.

"The passengers had to be restricted from 270 to 80 people per car," he told.

Then for Transjakarta bus, the number of passengers will be adjusted with the type of bus with operations starting at 5 AM.

"It is done to prevent long queue and not to jostle each other, from 150 to 60 people for articulated buses and 80 to 30 people for single bus," he stated.
